When the owners of Pelham Crescent moved, they returned to Luciano once again to create a garden. This time, the garden was on a far greater scale, but Luciano was keen to ensure it retained the feeling of intimacy that he’d achieved at Pelham Crescent while still feeling spacious and generous.
Colonnades of table-pruned trees and clipped hedging gives rhythm and movement to the space. On a practical level, they also create different spaces within the garden, from entertaining to play.
A dramatic focal point is a three-dimensional photograph by Japanese artist Keiichi Tahara. Under this, a black granite water feature shimmers.
