Chelsea 2011

Luciano Giubbilei Studio — Chelsea 2011

Chelsea 2011

London, England

2009–2011

In ‘Nature and Intervention’, the second garden for the champagne house Laurent-Perrier, Luciano took his conversations between art, architecture and gardens to a new level.

Collaborating with the architect Kengo Kuma and sculptor Peter Randall-Page, he forged an artistic exchange that explored man’s relationship with the natural world.

While Kuma’s Wind Pavilion used bamboo to capture temporary moments of light and movement, Randall-Page explored the tension between order and chaos in his iconic sculptures. Meanwhile, Luciano’s intimate arrangement of space and his delicate and naturalistic approach to water combined with dreamy, billowing planting to deliver his second Gold medal.
