Hermès SS24

Luciano Giubbilei Studio — Hermès SS24

Hermès SS24

Paris, France

2023

This project offered an opportunity to explore the language of landscape through the lens of performance, creating a powerful set that would reflect the philosophy of Hermès and the beauty of its SS24 collection.

Held at the Garde Républicaine in Paris, the brief from Creative Director Nadège Vanhée called for an immersive experience of nature, envisaged in the form of a meadow. Inspired by the golden fields of late summer in Tuscany, the ambition was to achieve a natural, pastoral aesthetic that would feel authentic rather than decorative.

Deschampsia formed the backbone of the scheme, evoking an atmosphere of simplicity and calm, with accents of Eragrostis elliottii, Miscanthus, white Gaura, chocolate Cosmos and the seed heads of Rudbeckia, Actaea and Pennisetum ‘Fairy Tails’—all chosen to echo the palette and textures of the collection.

Realisation of the project was entirely collaborative. Luciano and his studio led the planting research, nursery visits and on-site installation, working closely with a team of gardeners led by Jonny Bruce. Plant selection and sourcing were supported by several specialist nurseries, including Vivaio Valfredda, Kris Stevens, Jan Spruyt and Arno Rijnbeek. Project coordination was led by Natalie Allsopp, with set construction by Red Studio Allestimenti and overall production by Villa Eugénie.
