Sophie Balding

Sophie joined the Luciano Giubbilei team in 2016, after graduating from Goldsmiths, University of London with a first-class degree in Fine Art and Art History. With a sculptural practice rooted in materiality, balance, and rhythm, she was instinctively drawn to the way Luciano’s gardens translate these qualities into landscape.

Her role within the studio has evolved over time, with a focus on managerial support and project coordination. Alongside this, Sophie pursued an MSc in Environmental Systems Engineering at UCL, deepening her engagement with environmental solutions and ecological thinking.

Following her relocation to Canada in 2025, she continues to support the studio remotely, reflecting the long-standing trust and value built within the team.
