Piergiorgio Ferrara

Born and raised in Rome, Piergiorgio’s interest in the design process was nurtured by his schooling in the arts and product design. An extended period of study in Japan and the chance to engage with a family garden on his return ignited his fascination with landscape. In pursuit of this passion, Piergiorgio moved to Venice and embarked on his training as a landscape designer at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia.

In 2017 the opportunity arose to collaborate with Luciano Giubbilei. Piergiorgio has subsequently been involved in the majority of the studio’s projects, the principal focus of his work falling on planting design, plant research and garden implementation.

Piergiorgio believes in gardens as places of emotions and poetry, where culture, aesthetic knowledge and botany seamlessly combine.
